One-to-One Tuition

Individual, one-to-one tutorials allow high levels of interaction and focus on individual students’ needs.

One-to-One tuition is £180 per 1‑hour lesson

During the lesson I explain and annotate the notes and slides, discuss relevant exam questions with mark schemes, and use the whiteboard to illustrate and build up concepts. Students can upload exam questions they found difficult and we discuss how they should have approached them.

Every lesson is recorded and stored in a password protected “showcase”. Students often comment that they find these videos a really valuable resource for note taking and revision.

My explanation of concepts and going through exam questions helped, but more important was their change in approach to learning and taking greater responsibility for their grades.

Every one-to-one student gets a fixed weekly slot in my schedule. For this reason, there is a limited number of students I can accept each year.

I do still have some regular slots available for 2026-2027. Get in touch as soon as possible if you would like to secure one of these. Weekday early-evening times are the most popular and get booked up first.

You are welcome to book an initial trial lesson (at normal rate) before committing to the full year.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes. Most students who go on to book weekly do start with a single lesson to see if the teaching style is a good fit before committing to a regular slot. I don't offer free trial lessons, but a first lesson works exactly like any other and there's no obligation to continue afterwards.

  • You can book any slot that shows availability on my calendar.

    If these don’t suit your child’s schedule, please message me on WhatsApp with a few options and I'll do my best to find a time that suits.

  • Most students book a recurring weekly slot at the same day and time. Some people choose to have twice-weekly lessons.

    If you only need occasional or ad-hoc sessions, get in touch on WhatsApp to check what's available.

  • I teach AQA, OCR A, CIE and Edexcel SNAB, with lessons tailored to the specific requirements, command words and 'quirks' of your child's exact specification.

  • I go through notes, slides and past exam questions with markschemes, using a whiteboard to build up concepts as we talk. Your child can also send over exam questions they've found tricky, and we work through exactly how they should have approached them.

  • Yes, every one-to-one lesson is recorded and saved to a password-protected showcase that only your child and I can access.

    Many students find these recordings invaluable for revision, and they're especially useful for reviewing content between lessons.

  • You’re welcome to contact me any time you would like an update about your child’s progress

  • The booking system asks for your credit card information when you book, but at that time they are only used to reserve your lesson.

    Your payment details are held securely by the Accuity software - I never see your details.

    Payment is then taken after the lessons have gone ahead.

    For regular students, I invoice at the end of the month for lessons that have taken place.

    There's nothing to pay upfront and no need to remember to pay in advance each week.

  • There is no long-term contract. Most families book on a rolling weekly basis and simply let me know if they'd like to change or pause the arrangement. Regular attendance does get the best results, but there's no fixed term.

  • Yes — I hold a current, enhanced DBS check.
