A level Biology Videos:
Tutorials and Exam Guides

A Level Biology by Topic - 60 hours of video tutorials

My daughter finds these videos invaluable! With the industrial actions within state schools, and staff absences she is missing so many lessons. These video lessons mean she is not falling behind. We can’t recommend them more highly.

Each video tutorial focuses on a different topic, with carefully structured explanations followed by strategies for how to approach and answer A level exam questions to gain top marks. I use common questions taken mostly from OCR A and AQA A level Biology. Tutorials cover how to understand, remember, and apply the required concepts. I go into a lot of depth about how to answer questions, and you can pause and reply as many times as you like.

The recordings are taken from the Tuesday Evening Group. These videos were originally made available because regular attendees who had missed sessions wanted to catch up with what they’d missed.

I focus on explaining the topic as clearly as possible, while giving students time to think. I use simple drawings and diagrams which help with understanding and recall.

The focus the sessions have on understanding biological concepts and how to correctly answer past paper questions has really helped me. Through actively attending the group tutoring sessions my Biology grades are quickly improving from Cs to As.

OCR A Exam Guides

A-level Biology exam paper guides - 21 hours of video

Tom’s videos have been central to my students’ exam preparations for a while now. I use them in a number of different ways to complement my teaching, from homework tasks all the way through to full “walking talking mocks” in exam conditions. Not only do they include a breakdown of the knowledge required to attempt the question, but also very critical nuggets of information to help students with their exam technique.

Each episode goes through an OCR exam paper. You will learn how to improve your reading of the question, which theory to apply in your answer, and how to gain full marks.

The videos cover the three sample papers for the June 2017 Specification, the June 2016 AS papers and the June 2017 and June 2018. All of these exam papers are freely available to download from the OCR Website.

Subscriptions to stream all the guides on demand is £7.27/week. Streaming, payments and cancellations are all managed through the Vimeo website.
